The required vehicle liability insurance in Delaware is fairly basic. One thing that you need to remember is that all vehicles registered in the state of Delaware need to be insured.

The required vehicle liability insurance in Delaware follows a 15/30/10 limits:

  • $15,000/$30,000 for Bodily Injury Liability (BIL)
  • $10,000 for Property Damage Liability (PDL)
  • $15,000/$30,000 Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

It’s important that you carry a valid Delaware car insurance card whenever your drive to avoid any inconvenience on your part. Because if you get involved in an accident and failed to prove you have existing vehicle liability insurance in Delaware once asked by a law enforcement officer, then you might find yourself in a bigger problem. For first time offender, he or she will be required to pay a $1500 fine. Succeeding offenders will be a $3000 fines plus suspension of license for a period of six (6) months.
