I have just started in the career world and many insurance agents have been chasing me to get a Car Insurance since I bought a new one. Is there anything that can help me choose a legitimate car insurance agent here in New York and how can I know if they are legit or not?

It is most common here in New York that car insurance agents are going to chase you around if you just started your career for they will offer you a lot of things and also if you just bought a new car or the company that you are employed too had given you a car. But not necessarily entertaining every car insurance agent that comes your way which needs a lot of precautions to do.

If a car insurance agent comes to you should get their name and the car insurance company they are working for and then you can check them at New York’s Department of Insurance for they have a list of all the licensed car insurance agents since in order to be a licensed insurance agent they need to pass first on how knowledgeable are they in the insurance industry. Checking their names in the Department of Insurance, you will be able to know whether they are freelance agent or they are working in a certain car insurance company. If you have are sure enough that these car insurance agents are actually legitimate then you have to at least talk to three agents and know what they can offer you.
